about

Physical evolution freed us from instinctive reactions to natural urges. Mental evolution liberated us from obeying to a fantasy-based external authority. That's all for the better. We're free to use our mind and body, be our own directors. However, no new sense of direction has filled the vacuum left by instincts and religion. And this hurts, now that we are facing (legitimate?) criticism and even aggression from civilizations that take their moral compass all too serious.
Some suffering from an ethic horror vacui search for a new, clear path to follow. They fall for religious fundamentalism. Others don't take any direction at all, enjoy the moral waiver and get adrift and disoriented because of their individualistic approach. Egocentric or economic fundamentalists if you like. Our financial first-world headache evaporates compared to the distress religious fundamentalism is causing.
Maybe it's time for an ethic rehab, based on a humanistic philosophy? Maybe it's time to engage in a new, non-religious faith? A new meaning, based on rational values? Then we can also present life-handles to those getting sucked into a freefall in the vacuum. Let's convert the masses to morality, for it shouldn't be wasted on the believers.

lyrics

I am a priest without a religion
Ethic revival is the mission

Darwin stripped us of our animal instincts
Nietzsche cut our divine strings
Started as a waiver, turned out a free fall
Knapsacks sold as parachutes

I am a priest without a religion
A secular evangelist
A philanthropic terrorist
These times are calling for a guide

Economic cramps are only small hiccups
When we're faced with primal fears

These times are calling for a guide to reach the other side
Ethic revival is the mission as philanthropic terrorist
